Cormorant Cove Park started as a empty lot with a nine-foot high bulkhead and no beach access.  To create the park, the existing 200 foot-long bulkhead was torn out and cut back, recreating a driftwood beach intertidal habitat.

The park features a 360 square foot tiled Mosaic Lookout overlooking Puget Sound and  an 18 foot bronze handrail of waves and Cormorants.

The park is landscaped with native, salt tolerant, and drought tolerant plants.

Lezlie Jane was the project lead and artist for the development. She managed it through design phase, public process, funding, agency approvals, and construction. She chaired the Beach Drive Shoreline Parks Committee which served as the community steering committee for the project.
